The Association of Friends and Supporters of the Ludwig van Beethoven Music School Bonn e. V. was founded in 1999. The non-profit association is committed to supporting the music school in the City of Bonn in both material and non-material ways. It aims to help raise public awareness of the great importance of music lessons for young people.

To this end, the association is involved in both popular and top-level promotion. For example, it promotes and supports the music school in the implementation of larger events, the purchase of musical instruments, concert tours and youth exchange programs.

For example, pupils at the Bonn music school who have qualified to take part in the regional competition "Jugend musiziert" can apply to the association for a quota of additional lessons. Many special projects, such as the publication of the "Bonn Songbook" in connection with BTHVN 2020 and the "Strong Children's Voices" project, as well as the youth exchange with the music schools in Potsdam and Opole, could not have been realized without the support of the Friends' Association.
