The teaching model developed for the open all-day facilities combines weekly instrumental lessons in a small group of two to three children with a weekly orchestra rehearsal. This allows children to experience what it means to make music together with others right from the start. The OGS program is offered exclusively for a period of two years, in the second and third grades of elementary school. To ensure that the large group lessons in the orchestra work, the pupils can choose either wind instruments or string instruments per year group.
The Ludwig van Beethoven Music School currently cooperates with the OGS facilities of the following elementary school:
- GGS Heiderhof (Bad Godesberg)
- Donatusschule (Bad Godesberg)
- KGS Am Domhof (Mehlem)
- Münsterschule (Bonn-Zentrum)
- Till-Eulenspiegel Primary School (Poppelsdorf)
- Nordschule (Castell)
Further cooperation partners are the comprehensive school "Bonns Fünfte", the Helmholtz-Gymnasium and the Clara-Schumann-Gymnasium.
Only children who attend the respective institutions can take part in the cooperation programs. The cooperating institutions inform parents about the content and scope of the programs as well as the times when registration is possible.
